Why do we have awards:

  • Over many years, the foodservice industry has rown to be one of the most prolific industries in Australia, combining a diverse group of companies from foodservice distributors to food manufacturers, providores, catering companies, restaurants and cafes, pubs and clubs, media and so many other important companies.
  • Companies, individuals and service should be rewarded or their efforts in delivering the best service standards and the best products to market.
  • We may take the industry for granted however, there are many pioneers and companies who were instrumental in developing what is today's industry. They deserve the recognition and thanks for the industry of today.
  • Amazing changes have occurred in the food sector - new technology; different methods of advertising; fast paced lifestyles that change daily; our thirst for the best food and best produce at every level for our communities - home, work, schools, sports and to enrich our daily lives
  • The need to have more accountability of where our food comes from, the source, the chef, the method of cooking and the way in which is it served.
  • To give an award is to acknowledge the amazing efforts of so many in today's industry and to be congratulated by their peers.

What recognition do we provide the winners:

  • To elevate them so that their peers can reward them with thanks
  • Each winner is presented with an award which they keep and also a certificate to hang on the wall
  • Each winner is profiled on the FIA website and also included in press releases immediately after the event
  • The winners of all categories are included in a full page advertisement in trade media & magazines
